Attorney. Born August 2, 1929 in Burbank, California. While in high school he met Virginia and Jesse M. Unruh and Jean and Robert Wells, with whom he founded a James Roosevelt for Governor Club. While attending UCLA, he participated in the California Democratic Guild. Holen served as assemblyman Unruh's legislative adviser from 1959-61.
